SecurityGuy.ca (“SecurityGuy,” “we,” or “us”) operates this website to describe our IT and cybersecurity services and respond to inquiries. This policy explains the personal information involved when you use the website.
1. Information you provide
If you use our contact form, we collect the name, work email address, optional company name, selected service interests, and message you submit. The form also sends the page you visited and referral information available from your browser. Please avoid including passwords, account credentials, or other sensitive information in your message.
We use this information to receive, assess, and respond to your inquiry and maintain a record of our communications.
2. Contact form and security
Our contact form is processed through a Cloudflare Worker and uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help identify automated or abusive submissions. Submitted inquiries are forwarded to our Google Sheets-based intake system. Cloudflare and Google may process relevant information under their own service terms and privacy practices.
Hosting and security infrastructure may also process technical data, such as IP addresses, request information, and security events, as needed to deliver and protect the website.
3. Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand website traffic and successful contact-form inquiries. We do not load Google Analytics unless you choose Accept analytics. If you decline, the contact form and its essential security features still work.
With your permission, Google Analytics may use cookies and collect information about visits and interactions, including device/browser information and approximate location derived from technical signals. We send a generate_lead event after a successful form submission when analytics consent is active; we do not intentionally include your contact-form name, email address, or message in that event.
You can change your choice using Analytics preferences in the website footer. Rejecting analytics stops further optional analytics measurement by our website; information previously processed by Google may remain subject to applicable retention settings.
4. Sharing and service providers
We use service providers, including DigitalOcean for hosting, Cloudflare for delivery and website protection, and Google for inquiry handling and optional analytics. We do not sell contact-form information. Information may be processed or stored outside Canada, depending on service-provider infrastructure and settings.
5. Retention and safeguards
We retain inquiry information for as long as reasonably needed to manage the inquiry, maintain relevant business records, or meet applicable obligations, then delete it when no longer required. We use access controls and website security measures designed to protect the information we handle. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and requests
You can decline optional analytics and continue using the site. You can also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided, subject to applicable legal or operational requirements.
